This page explains what information FreakyJolly (https://freakyjolly.com) collects when you read our guides, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain. If anything is unclear, email us at jolly.exe@gmail.com.
Who we are
FreakyJolly is an independent website that publishes tutorials and news about AI tools, local AI models, ComfyUI workflows and AI hardware. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean FreakyJolly.
Information we collect
- Information you give us: your email address if you join our newsletter, and your name, email and comment if you leave a comment.
- Information collected automatically: like most websites, our server and the services below receive technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, referring page and the time of your visit.
- Cookies and similar technologies: small files stored in your browser by us and by our advertising and analytics partners, explained below.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
We show ads served by Google AdSense to keep the site free. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info. To learn more, read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, you may be asked for your consent before personalised ads or advertising cookies are used, and you can change that choice at any time.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics (through Google Site Kit) to understand which guides are useful, how visitors find us and how the site performs. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects data such as pages viewed, approximate location and device type. We do not use it to identify you personally. You can block it with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. We also count page views on our own server to show which guides are popular; this count does not identify you.
Newsletter
If you sign up for our free weekly email, we collect your email address, the date you signed up and which page you signed up on. It is stored securely in our own website database. To send the newsletter we may use an email delivery service such as Kit (Kit.com, formerly ConvertKit), which would process your address on our behalf and may do so outside your country, including in the United States.
- We use double opt-in: after you press Subscribe we email you a confirmation link, and you only get the newsletter once you click it.
- We use your email only to send our newsletter about new guides. We never sell or rent it.
- Kit may record whether an email was opened or a link was clicked, which helps us see which topics readers want.
- Every email has an unsubscribe link. One click removes you, and you can ask us to delete your data at any time.
Comments
When you leave a comment, we store the name, email and website you enter, the comment itself, and your IP address and browser user agent to help detect spam. An anonymised string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to Gravatar to show your profile picture; see the Automattic privacy policy. Comments and their data are kept until you ask us to remove them.
Cookies we and our partners use
| Type | Set by | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Advertising | Google AdSense and its partners | Show and measure ads, limit repeats, personalise ads where you allowed it |
| Analytics | Google Analytics | Count visits and understand how guides are used |
| Preferences | FreakyJolly | Remember light or dark mode and that you already subscribed (stored in your browser only) |
| Comments and login | WordPress | Remember your comment details if you choose, and keep site admins logged in |
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may change how ads and parts of the site work.
Embedded content and links
Guides may include embedded videos or images from other sites, such as YouTube or GitHub. Embedded content behaves as if you visited that site, which may collect data and use cookies. We also link to many external sites; their own privacy policies apply there.
How long we keep data
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion.
- Comments: until you ask us to remove them.
- Analytics data: according to Google Analytics retention settings (14 months or less).
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or limit how we use it. We do not sell personal information. To use any of these rights, email jolly.exe@gmail.com and we will reply within 30 days.
Children
FreakyJolly is not aimed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when we add new features or services. The date at the top shows the latest version.
