In this tutorial, we’ll add Ionic Slider in Ionic 5 Angular application and implement sliding effects like Cube, Fade, Flip and Coverflow as animation transitions during the carousel navigation.
The ionic framework provides an Image or content slider which is very popular due to flexible and awesome configuration ability. The ion-sliders UI component is used to implement slider carousel in the application which uses Swiper.js library to create this Slider.
Swiper.js is a popular and widely used carousel library that supports a number of transition effects. The slide effect is used by default other than that it supports Cube, Flip, Fade and Coverflow.
As IonSliders use Swiper.js library, so we are going to implement these effects in an Ionic application. These effects can be easily added to a slider using JS configurations.
Her we will discuss how to create a new Ionic application using the latest version 5 and implement Swiper slider effects.

#1 Update Ionic CLI
We are going to build an Ionic application in using the latest version of the @ionic/cli package which is 6.6.0. You can update by running below npm command in the terminal
$ npm install -g @ionic/cli
#2 Create a new Ionic 5 application.
After updating the Ionic CLI, execute below ionic command to create a new Ionic application using Angular framework by adding the --type=angular option with a blank template.

The ionic framework provides the ion-slides UI component which acts as a wrapper for each slide created by adding ion-slide component. The ion-slides component is basically using the Swiper carousel library, which is very popular and provides a number of configuration options. Ofcourceyou can apply those configurations in Ionic application as well.
In our blank template-based application, open the home.page.html, then add Slides using <ion-slides> component

In the home page component class, we will add @ViewChild decorator to get slider instance and use IonSliders methods to navigate slider using arrows.
Just replace below code in the home.page.ts file for a simple Slider with slide effect which is selected by default.
